چکیده
Background: The incidence of atypical trigeminal neuralgia (aNTN) varies from 1 to 7 per 100,000 population year. main cause its development is compression the nerve (TN) root by a vein and/or artery in cerebellar cistern. To date, final tactics treatment for patients with aNTN has not been specified. effectiveness conservative methods therapy does exceed 50%.
aim this study was evaluate results microvascular decompression using video endoscopy neuralgia.
Methods: In period 2014 2021, 34 were operated on, which 18 (53%) had neuropathic pain (more than 4 points on DN4 scale), and 15 (44%) transformation classical into neuralgia. (carbamazepine, gabapentin, pregabalin), administered all preoperative period, accompanied significant relief syndrome. maximum intensity upon admission hospital was, according visual analog scale (VAS), 10 points, BNI (Barrow Neurological Institute) Pain Intensity Scale V (severe, persistent pain). All underwent use Teflon; 12 (35%) patients, addition microscopy, used. average follow-up after surgery 3.41.7 years (from 5 years).
Results: (100%) completely eliminated (BNI I) surgery. A total five-year excellent good outcome disease J. Miller (I -II) noted 80% (n=27) aNTN. risk recurrence 14% (n=3) first three years, 34% (n=4) years. made it possible identify blood vessels compressing minimal displacement cerebellum cranial nerves when visualizing neurovascular conflict.
 Conclusion: method effective

PURPOSE The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of microvascular decompression treatment prospectively in 40 patients with trigeminal neuralgia who were resistant to medical treatments and underwent microvascular decompression surgery (MVDS) between the years 2008 and 2010. METHODS The patients' data were collected as per norms suggested by Zakrzewska and Lopez and followed...

BACKGROUND Trigeminal Neuralgia (TGN) is the most frequently diagnosed type of facial pain. In idiopathic type of TGN it is caused by the neuro-vascular conflict involving trigeminal nerve. Microvascular decompression (MVD) aims at addressing this basic pathology in the idiopathic type of TGN. This study was conducted to determine the outcome and complications of patients with idiopathic TGN un...
